David and Jennifer Swagar opened MOST Physical Preparation in September 2012 with the mission of bringing evidence aware clinical and training options normally reserved for elite athletes to the general public of Calgary while at the same time instilling a strong sense of personal confidence and community involvement to their members.
MOST is a community of people that embrace education and practical experience and use both to overcome obstacles and dysfunctions. Our team works with an integrated interdisciplinary approach with the goal of offering the best possible results. Our coaches and clinicians all possess a high educational standard combined with years of practical experience in order to provide the a client centred treatment.

David Swagar
Clinical Director
Manual Osteopathic Therapist/Football Performance Coach
David comes from a high-level athletic background. David was a 4-year starter and 3-year Defensive Captain with one of the nation’s top varsity football teams, the University of Calgary Dinos. He moved from a personal focus on football performance to helping others achieve their performance goals and has been a manual therapist and performance coach for over 20 years. David has treated a wide variety of conditions including Back pain, motor vehicle accident injuries, neck and shoulder dysfunction, sports-related sprains and strains as well as chronic conditions; his clinical work. His patient base is wide and diverse: From professional athletes to weekend warriors. David has his degree in Kinesiology from the University of Calgary and completed his education in Manual Osteopathic Therapy through the Collège D’Études Ostéopathiques.
Jenn Swagar
Director of Coaching
Rehabilitation Specialist
Jenn Swagar is the Director of Coaching at MOST Physical Preparation. She has dedicated her entire adult life to the study and practice of coaching, functional fitness, movement education and rehabilitation planning.
Jenn obtained her Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Calgary and then subsequently a Masters of Science in Coaching Education from Ohio University.
Jenn Swagar’s coaching extends beyond athletic performance and empowers the athlete as an individual person. Jenn embraces coaching as both a science and an art, where education, experience and application all play equal parts in the overall message and its’ success.
Through her years of coaching, movement education and rehabilitation planning, Jenn has acquired extensive firsthand knowledge of treatment and training practices and principles administered to high-performance athletes. Jenn’s goal at MOST is to bring this level of support and knowledge to the general public. Jenn has also established a large network of experts developed over 30+ years working in her various roles. This network includes some of Canada’s top nutritionists, sports psychologists, strength and conditioning specialists, sports scientists and clinicians.
Integrity and honesty are key tenets of Jenn’s character and her overall outlook on life. Jenn is known for her holistic coaching style and her ability to bring out the best in her clients both in their athletic endeavors and their life outside of sport.
Mark Cameron
PHYSIOTHERAPIST
From a young age, Mark has been passionate about sport and believes in an active approach to rehabilitation and recovery for both youth and adult populations. He is a lifelong skier, gym goer, team sport enthusiast, and outdoorsman, and still enjoys lacing up the skates for a game of hockey. Mark has a background rich in strength and conditioning as an educator at the University of Alberta, former personal trainer, strength coach, and former head off-season trainer for elite level minor hockey players. With a Master’s in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta, Mark brings years of experience providing physiotherapy to pediatric and adult populations with a focus on return to sport and activity. Kevin Trinh
PHYSIOTHERAPIST
Kevin’s treatment philosophy emphasizes an active approach to help clients return to or continue doing what they love.
With a special interest in biomechanics and pain neuroscience, Kevin’s practice is grounded in the principles of exercise for managing both acute injuries and chronic pain. Combining his exercise background with training in manual therapy, Kevin strives to find the right approach to help clients move better, experience less pain, and reduce the risk of chronic disease.
Outside the clinic, Kevin enjoys spending time with his dog Ellie, playing ultimate frisbee with his wife, brewing coffee, and delving into research on concussion, ACL injuries, and running rehab.
Brandon Krysko
Physiotherapist
Brandon completed a Master of Science in Physiotherapy at the University of Alberta after earning a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the same institution. His professional journey began in accounting, but a motor vehicle accident during his first year of office work introduced him to the world of rehabilitation and inspired a career change. After starting practice in Edmonton, Brandon relocated to Calgary in 2020.
As a former athlete-type turned desk professional, Brandon understands firsthand the physical challenges of modern lifestyles and the importance of proactive strategies to maintain strength and mobility over time. An avid learner with a passion for human optimization, he stays current on topics spanning health, performance, and nutrition – always having a podcast in his headphones.
Brandon has extensive post-graduate training, with accreditations in advanced manual therapy (spinal manipulation) and dry needling, and is authorized to order diagnostic imaging such as ultrasound, X-ray and MRI. These complement his background in strength and conditioning, ensuring accurate diagnosis and treatment which integrates hands-on manual therapy and progressive exercise and load management.
Outside the clinic, Brandon enjoys hockey, skiing, golf, and strength training. A dedicated traveler, he has visited nearly 50 countries and continues to explore both the world abroad and the natural beauty around Calgary.
Maxime Malo

Max Malo is a Registered Massage Therapist with a focus on sports recovery, chronic injury management, and performance enhancement, now serving athletes at MOST Physical Preparation. With a strong foundation in competitive sports and a personal history in high school football, Max understands the demands and challenges faced by athletes across a spectrum of sports including golf, skating, rugby, and hockey. Following a transformative experience overcoming a significant spinal injury, Max pursued an Advanced 3000-hour Clinical Massage Therapy program, equipping him with the skills to address a wide range of sports-related injuries and conditions. His practice emphasizes the latest in therapeutic technologies and techniques, notably Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) therapy, recognized for its effectiveness in accelerating recovery and improving cellular function. Max’s professional toolkit includes: – **Sports and Clinical Massage Therapy:** Tailored to meet the specific needs of athletes for recovery and maintenance. – **Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM):** A cutting-edge treatment that enhances healing, reduces inflammation, and increases ATP production, crucial for recovery. – **Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation:** Combining hands-on treatments with personalized rehabilitation exercises to ensure athletes return to their sports stronger and more resilient. Summer Hill
certified athletic therapist
Hill Summer was born and raised in Calgary, AB. Where she grew up playing a variety of sports such as soccer, and volleyball and primarily was a competitive dancer. Most recently Summer was a representative for the Kinesiology Games team which is an athletic/academic conference where she brought home first place along with her fellow teammates from MRU. Summer is a recent graduate from Mount Royal University receiving her bachelor’s in Health and Physical Education, with a major in Athletic Therapy. During her bachelor’s she was able to work with a variety of varsity athletes primarily with the St. Mary’s University Men’s Basketball team and the University of Calgary Dino’s Football Team. Working closely with the team in the preseason, in-season and off-season. Working closely with her Sports Medicine teacher growing up, she learned that she wanted to pursue a career in athletic therapy. She continues to go back and volunteer with the program to help promote what athletic therapy consists of and provides guidance to those seeking questions about the field. Summer believes in creating bonds with her patients to help motivate and build confidence in their rehabilitation process which encourages a seamless transition back into their daily activities and sports. Summer uses a variety of soft tissue techniques to treat musculoskeletal injuries, along with exercise rehab prescription, and therapeutic modalities to create well-rounded treatments for her patients. She also works in the field providing on-field emergency care to her teams.
Ruyter Swagar
Coach
Ruyter has grown up around competitive sports. He has been immersed in the theory and practice of training and coaching not only from his mother and father but from many other amazing coaches and athletes with whom he has had the opportunity to interact with and learn from. As such, his experience and knowledge of sports performance and general movement readiness are beyond his years.
Ruyter has been involved in many sports as a young athlete including wrestling, weightlifting, track and field and football. As a result of his life and sport experience, Ruyter has developed great communication and people skills. He is an approachable and relatable young coach who thrives in the gym and on the field.
Outside of MOST, Ruyter is attending the University of Calgary pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Law and Society. Ruyter enjoys his time with every athlete and strives to build strong and respectful bonds with everyone he coaches and plays with.
Cassidy is a physiotherapist with five years of experience who recently relocated from Ontario to Calgary. Born in Canada, she grew up in Dubai before returning to Canada to complete her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Rehabilitation Science at Western University. She then earned her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at Queen’s University, where she met her husband. They were married this past fall and are excited to begin this new chapter in Calgary.
Cassidy takes a biopsychosocial approach to rehabilitation, combining hands-on manual therapy with personalized exercise programs to help clients not only heal but feel stronger and more confident than before. She is trained in and utilizes dry needling and acupuncture techniques to enhance her treatments. She enjoys working with a wide range of patients, from competitive athletes to weekend warriors, and is passionate about helping them return to the activities they love.
Outside of work, Cassidy loves hiking, playing volleyball and softball, traveling, trying new restaurants and food, and spending time with her husband and black lab, Maitland, who is (without question) the bestest boy.
Cassidy is excited to find herself at MOST and looks forward to contributing to this thriving community.
